Eric M. Ostertag, M.D., Ph.D., Chief Executive Officer

eric-1 Dr. Ostertag completed his undergraduate training at the University of Wisconsin where he received a B.S. in Genetics with Honors. He completed both M.D. and Ph.D. (Molecular Biology) degrees at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Ostertag later completed residency training (Clinical Pathology) and a fellowship (Transfusion Medicine) at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He has received numerous scientific and clinical awards including best genetic research by a pre-doctoral student by the American Society of Human Genetics, best abstract award from the American Society for Apheresis and a fellowship from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. Dr. Ostertag previously co-founded PhenoTech Inc. where he served as Executive Vice President. He is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Transposagen, Inc. a biotech company that makes animal models of human diseases. He has raised over $7 million in early stage funding for his start-up companies.

P. Peter Ghoroghchian, M.D., Ph.D., Chief Scientific Officer

peter-12Dr. Ghoroghchian received a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He completed both M.D. and Ph.D. (Bioengineering) degrees at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Ghoroghchian has also conducted residency training (Internal Medicine) at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital. During his doctoral studies, he co-invented emissive polymersome technology along with Professors Daniel Hammer and Michael Therien. Dr. Ghoroghchian has received numerous awards including the Solomon R. Pollack Award given to the best graduate student in Bioengineering at the University of Pennsylvania, the Biomedical Engineering Society Graduate Student Award presented to the best graduate student in the U.S., Best Poster Award by the Society of Molecular Imaging, the National Institutes of Health Medical Scientist Training Program Fellowship and the Whitaker Foundation Graduate Fellowship in Biomedical Engineering. He has authored multiple peer-reviewed scientific articles, as well as several issued patents, describing the application of polymersomes for medical imaging and therapy. He previously founded Leto Pharmaceuticals, a start-up biotechnology company, and has also served as the Director of Discovery for PhenoTech Inc.
